Season 7 finale results show airs Wednesday, 5/21 at 8pm ET on Fox The last few "American Idol" eliminations have been shockers, so at this point in the singing competition anybody could go home next. America can be fickle. Will the finale be the battle of the two Davids, or will Jason or Syesha miraculously improve their game, win America's votes, and find a spot in the Top 2? Whoever ends up battling it out for the Season 7 title, you can bet that the finale show will be quite an event! All 12 of the finalists will return for group numbers and duets alongside tons of celebrity guests. Rumor has it that with Paula Abdul's first studio release in over a decade due in stores this summer, the Forever Your Girl star will debut a song from her upcoming album on the "Idol" finale on May 21st. And Paula fans can expect an all-out "Idol" extravaganza. We hear that this season's Top 12 "Idols" will perform with Paula on the brand new Nokia Theatre stage -- and two "Idols" from each of the past six seasons will also return to Hollywood for the spectacular season-closer. link I swear to god if this is true, and those !#+! for brains jackasses don't invite Justin, I am not going to be responsible for what I do. I was seeing things that looked like they were starting to add up, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. 1) Justin's odd reaction to the question on Idol Wrap when asked what he "would" sing. He answered like it was a literal question, not a speculative one. After years of watching him, I've gotten pretty good at reading what's really going on in his head and that ^^^ usually signals something is going on. 2) Him all of a sudden switching gears from "no new music" to making it available right as the season is wrapping (with no apparent plans to tour, just more 3-4 song promo appearances as a former Idol). and, this counts too, 3) This season was all about "the family" of Idols, with no big names leaking for the finale. None of that is conclusive, and it actually makes me kinda pissed off at that spoiler, because dammit, now my hopes ARE up. Argh. Last Edited By: norskie123 05/15/08 7:59 PM. Edited 1 times.

What do they mean by "return" ? Are they performing or sitting in the audience? Justin would certainly be an obvious choice but I'm not going to hold my breath. I hope history doesn't repeat itself.

I was wondering what they meant by return as well. I don't know what other use they would be... unless they did some huge Where Are They Now? sort of thing. But it would take a long time for 12 people to each sing their own song (and the show is already way too long!), and I'm not sure how happy I'd be with a medley. I guess I really couldn't complain if Justin got to sing at all though.

Ninety percent of the audience would probably not "get it." I remembered something Kim C said on Idol Wrap after IGB. She said there was something of a plan to bring prior Idols back as a gospel-type chorus but it didn't work out. I guess if anything, that's what may be going on. If so, and he's just one voice among many, then Justin won't get much boost musically. But then, if he doesn't have the music out, it doesn't make sense to do it on the show.

Also, radio interviews in the morning. This from a radio station blog in W. Virginia. I know my local station won't have anything but it might be worth checking your own local stations that morning. WKEE Goes Inside the Finale Those of you in the Tri-State area will get a special inside look--or more precisely, listen--into the "Idol" finale… WKEE's (100.5 FM) morning show team, Sheila and Jim, will broadcast live from Los Angeles beginning Monday. "On Air with Sheila and Jim" will broadcast live from 6-10 a.m. Monday through Wednesday from the Nokia Lounge inside the Nokia Theater, where the finale will take place. During the shows, they'll conduct interviews with "Idol" participants both past and present. Monday, Sheila and Jim will attend a party that will feature a special performance by Ace Young (Yea! Someone's actually promoting his album!) and is scheduled to be attended by Bo Bice, Melinda Doolittle, Justin Guarini and more former Idols. Sheila and Jim will also attend the performance show on Tuesday and the finale on Wednesday. Once the results are revealed tonight (check out dailynews.com), I can have my weeknights back and be free of this "Idol" addiction. With summer here, I'm sure there are many other avid viewers who feel the same way. Before Tuesday's show, I got a call from season-one runner-up Justin Guarini, host of TV Guide Channel's "Idol Tonight," and we gabbed about David vs. David. "I think it's going to be the smallest margin of victory in `Idol' history," Justin said. "It's the first time we've seen two guys go head-to-head since Clay (Aiken) and Ruben (Studdard) and that was very close. Like in season two, their differences make the competition that much more exciting."
